Metra is proud to invite the public to participate in a collaborative education conference aimed at raising awareness and fostering community engagement in the fight against human trafficking. The free conference will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Chicago-Kent College of Law Illinois Institute of Technology, 565 W. Adams Street, Chicago.
“Metra is committed to promoting safety and awareness on our trains and in our communities,” said Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski. “By hosting this conference, we hope to provide attendees with the knowledge and resources needed to recognize the signs of human trafficking and take action.”
Human trafficking affects individuals and communities across the nation. As a vital part of Chicago’s transportation system, Metra recognizes its role in helping combat this crime. The conference brings together transit, law enforcement, social service providers, and educators to discuss strategies for identifying and preventing human trafficking, as well as ways to support victims and survivors.
Registration is free, but space is limited. Participants can register for the in-person or virtual event here.
Join us in this important effort to educate our community and make a difference in the lives of those affected by human trafficking.
