The below dates indicate the duration of construction projects, NOT how long Metra intends to keep the alternate schedules in effect. To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

BNSF: See below for effective construction dates

Effective through June 9: Weekday track maintenance occurring between Western Ave. and Aurora.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Effective June 3: Saturday track maintenance occurring between Lisle and Fairview Ave. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Metra Electric: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction taking place for the 147th St. Sibley station rehabilitation and a Tie Gang. Weekday midday trains (In: 214-328 / Out: 215-329) underneath may be delayed 20 minutes. Weekend midday trains (In: 802-824 / Out: 8305-827) may be delayed 20 minutes.

Effective June 5 through June 9: Evening weekday construction taking place at 31st St. Bridge. Evening trains (In: 338-150 / Out: 145-153) may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Milwaukee District North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday construction taking place near Grayland. Midday trains (plus 2618) with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Milwaukee District West: See below for effective construction dates

Effective until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction occurring in various parts along the MD-W line. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Rock Island: See below for effective construction dates

Effective through June 9: Weekday construction occurring in various spots along the line for track maintenance. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

Effective June 3 (Saturday Only):  On June 3, there will be no passenger train service in or out of Joliet Station for the Rock Island trains due to track construction, passengers can board trains at New Lenox Station. Rock Island will resume service to Joliet on Sunday morning June 4, 2023. ALL Saturday trains may incur delays up to 5 minutes. Please click this link to view the construction schedule. 

Union Pacific North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective through June 9: Weekday track maintenance occurring between Lake Bluff and Waukegan. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Effective June 2: Evening track maintenance occurring near Lawrence Ave. Evening trains (In: 372-374 / Out: 373-377) may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Effective June 3: Weekend track maintenance occurring near Lawrence Ave. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath (including 800) may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Effective June 4: Weekend track maintenance occurring near between Waukegan to Kenosha. Weekend trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Union Pacific Northwest: See below for effective construction dates

Effective through June 9: Weekday track maintenance occurring near Clybourn and between Crystal Lake to Harvard. Midday trains (including 619) with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 20 minutes.

June 3 through June 4: Weekend track maintenance occurring near Clybourn and Crystal Lake to Harvard. Weekend trains (In: 700-722/Out: 701-719) may experience delays up to 20 minutes.
